Contemporary Health Care is a unique healing center in Austin, Texas offering a multi-disciplinary approach to individualized health care from a mind, body, spirit perspective.

As the founder of this innovative center, Dr. Holland began officially developing this concept during her doctoral studies that focused on holistic healing through the understanding of self. As an advanced family nurse practitioner, Holland was providing traditional quality health care to adult and older adult clients when she was lead to pursue more advanced education that focused on the understanding that care should be directed from the perspective of each person – as they perceived the situation and as they perceived their own unique and specific care needs.

Dr. Holland understood that both illness and healing resided in the individual making it incumbent on the situation to understand the unique presentation and needs of both situations. So it is that each individual is a combination of a unique blend of the mind, body, spirit aspects of life necessitating a higher level of awareness of this spiritual influence.

Thus, her vision is to provide a healing practice that truly embodies the concept of mind, body and spirit. Acknowledging the spiritual nature of humanity, she has combined the traditional Western approach with the wisdom of Eastern philosophy to provide complimentary approaches to healing in one space.

As a family nurse practitioner specializing in adult and geriatric care, Dr. Holland has taught advanced practice nursing from a healing perspective at both the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston and The University of Texas School of Nursing in Austin.
For more than 30 years, she has provided high quality health care for adults and seniors, with a special emphasis on relationships of families with members suffering from Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.
